Emperor Foundation sponsored "Tree-Planting Challenge 2007", organized by Fiends of the Earth, and recruited 16 staff to participate in the event.
Staged on April 29, 2007, "Tree-Planting Challenge 2007" was a competition that combined tree-planting and hiking to restore the mountain slopes at Wong Nai Tun Reservoir, Tai Lam Country Park, which were ruined by hill fire. Contestants were required to plant a certain number of trees and complete an approximate distance of 10 km on a designated hiking course within 6 hours.
Awards were offered to those with the fastest speed, best way to deliver the seedlings etc. 20 Emperor Conveyor volunteers competed in 4 separate teams with contestants from other organizations, though all actually valued much more the rare opportunity to contribute to the environment than the trophies.
