In the morning on 28th October, 2006, a lot of colleagues of the Emperor Group actively responded to the call of the Emperor Foundation for supporting Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care (SPHC) Flag Day 2006 and tried their best to maintain and develop bereavement support services. Our colleagues raised fund by participating in flag selling personally at various designated places, many of them invited their relatives and friends to join the volunteer team as well.
The purpose of SPHC Flag Day 2006 is to raise money for the Jessie and Thomas Tam Centre of SPHC. The Centre is the first community bereavement counseling, education and resources centre in Hong Kong, which provides support and care for the bereaved people who have lost a loved one and suffered from emotional instability. Services include individual and family counseling, therapeutic bereavement group, voluntary service and hotline supporting services, etc. Since its opening in 1997, the Centre has already provided support services for over 2,000 bereaved families.
