The annual fundraising event “Hike for Hospice 2019” was held in Tai Lam Country Park on March 3rd on a cozy Sunday. Since 1992, the event has got tremendous support and participation from different social sectors as well as the general public. The Emperor Group continue being the Platinum sponsor of this year, as always, the group and its spirits spare no effort in doing philanthropy. Ms. Semon Luk, Chairperson of the Emperor International Holdings Limited, Mr. Donald Cheung, Executive Director of the Emperor International Holdings Limited, EEG’s artistes Deep Ng and Tsang Lok Tung represented the group to kick-off the ceremony together with Dr. Hubert Chan Chung Yee, JP, Chairman of the Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care (SPHC), Mr. Edward Naylor, Chairman of the Hike for Hospice Organizing Committee and the actress Karena Lam, to bolster hundreds of attendees through practice in a bid to air an important message of stay and live positive.
It was the second year Deep Ng has participated in this meaningful event, he told us that hiking helps sharpen our thinking and also boost our mood and body which coheres with the key value of the event, “passing down positive attitude towards life”.
Another EEG artiste Tsang Lok Tung who was here for the very first time but she has a great feeling of the significance of helping the ills, elderlies and their families in the later stage as it is an issue which always being overlooked by the society. She added that a well-rounded hospice service could provide people in need a later life with dignity and professional care, at the same time help their family to ease the sorrow over the loss of the loved one.
The charity hike started with the sound of a horn and ended with a traditional curry meal with beautiful nature in the background…
