Emperor Group staff volunteered to spend a day with the residents of 2 Housing for the Elderly units operated by Helping Hands for a warm Mid-Autumn Festival celebration on September 11, 2011.
About 40 volunteers took part in this activity jointly organized by Emperor Foundation and Everybright Concern Action. They visited 2 housing units respectively in Po Lam and Chuk Yuen. Volunteers first decorated the venue with festive lanterns upon their arrival. And they hosted a little fun time with the elderly with traditional riddles, "towel twirling" dance and other "amateur" performances and games, bringing a full house of laughter. They also went straight to the flats of some residents who were less mobile and not able to join the crowd, with festival gifts of moon cakes and fruits. Emperor Group staff put their concern for the elderly not living with their families into action and wished them their warmest festive greetings.
