"Over 50 Emperor Group staff including EEG artistes Michelle and Kathy set off to Wuhan, Hubei Province on 27 November (Friday) for a volunteer tour organized by "Emperor Foundation", aiming to visit the solitary elderly there.
The volunteers first visited "Hubei Hong Kong Emperor Elderly Care Centre", a centre funded by Emperor Foundation which offers free hospice service for solitary elderly. Lacking family's care, the patients in the centre were grateful to have these visitors from Hong Kong. Volunteers divided into several groups: preparing lunch and assisting the elderly to finish their meals; massaging, haircutting and trimming the Elderly's nails; refurnishing the facilities to improve the living environment for the elderly. After lunch, the volunteers put on a performance which brought lots of fun to the elderly.
The volunteers also visited Wulijie Elderly's Home and Suohe Elderly's Home respectively. Although the weather was cold, volunteers still worked in the field and participated in construction work. The volunteers also prepared a performance for the elderly, which brought the memorable day to a perfect end.
Emperor Foundation also donated overcoats, wheelchairs and crutches to the elderly to make their life more comfortable and convenient.
