In mid-September, Emperor Group, with the purpose of carrying forward the Chinese traditional virtues of respect and care for the elderly, invited 20 single and underprivileged group of elders from the Yong‘anli Community of Jianwai Sub-district to join the Mid-Autumn Festival luncheon at Yuji Seafood Plaza in the Emperor Group Centre, bringing them a Mid-Autumn celebration that fused with happiness and joy.
On that day, Emperor Group invited chef from the restaurant to prepare the elderly a special seasonal tasting menu. Throughout the lunch, chef shared with elderly knowledge about the autumn dietary and the secret of eating, to teach the elderly how to improve their health with a healthier approach to daily cooking. Elderlies have all enjoyed the event so much which can be seen from those smiley faces when they chitchatting and sharing own stories with volunteers. Everyone had a wonderful time.
Li Tao, the Party Secretary of Yong’anli community of Jianwai Sub-district, and the volunteers from the Emperor Group sent all elderlies a gift bag with sincere greetings and moon cakes produced by The Emperor Hotels Group. The festive vibe was enhanced by the endearing atmosphere for celebrating this very important Chinese tradition.
During the activity, Li Tao, expressed her gratitude to Emperor Group for its long-term care and respect to the elderly in the community and their visions to join hands with the Group to build a harmonious community. The elders appreciated the continuous care from Emperor Group and volunteers for all warm actions that they have been done. “I am very happy to have such a meaningful conversation with volunteers, also to gain knowledge of healthy diet while having chance to taste such a delicious meal. Thanks for giving all of us a memorable moon festival.” said the elder.
As "aging of the population" becomes a global problem, people from all walks of life are paying greater attention to this issue. In particular, socially vulnerable groups such as the elderly who live alone, or who have lost their only child or have economic difficulties, generally have little contact with the outside world. Therefore, better accompaniment, concerns, and care are required for the elderly who live a simple spiritual life with economic difficulties and tends to feel lonely deep in their hearts.
As the “Excellent Unit Representative of Love Alliance” of the Yong‘anli Community of Jianwai Sub-district, Emperor Group has been committed to supporting the work of "respecting and caring for the elderly". We not only arrange regular activities but also establish a deep contact with the community to actively offer assistance to vulnerable groups and regularly visit the elders who live alone and have physical or economic difficulties, spreading the love of Emperor Group in the community in a practical way.
