Emperor Foundation donated HKD 3.4 million to "Social Workers Across Border"(SWAB) to support their development of hospice services in Hubei for the elderly single people living on their own. And Emperor Group Chairman Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Shing took up the position of Permanent Honorary President of SWAB by their invitation.
The Foundation contributed HKD 5 million to build an elderly care centre last May. The 3.4 million this year is an extension of last year's donation to furnish the centre with hospice services, with an objective to serve all elderly in need in Wuhan City, accompanying them on the last journey of their lives.
According to SWAB, the hospice services under planning will be first of its kind in China. They will make reference to the experience gained from Hong Kong, assess the actual situation in the Mainland China and develop a unique service model custom made for China.
