The People's Government of Hebei hosted an investment forum today in Hong Kong, during which Hebei Governor Hu Chunhua announced that Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Shing, Chairman of Emperor Group, had donated RMB 1.2 million via his personal charity foundation "Albert Yeung Sau Shing Foundation" to build an elderly care centre in Shunping County together with the County Government of Shunping County, of Hebei Province. The centre would be named "Albert Yeung Sau Shing Charity Elderly Service Centre". Hu Chunhua shook hands with Dr. Yeung and commended his repeated donations to Hebei Province and even other places in China. Dr. Yeung said "Our wealth has all gone down during the current economic crisis. However, our dedication to charity could never go down." He had also sent representatives to South Central and Northwest regions to look for opportunities to build more elderly service centres, reinforcing the hospice and shelter service for senior citizens who have no working ability, no income and no support from children. Shunping County is in Baoding City, Hebei Province, about 1.5 hour drive away from Beijing. Shunping County Government started the construction of the elderly service centre in 2008. The centre has a gross area of 8,600 sq. m. and 400 beds.
