The 57-year-old Guangdong University of Finance announced the appointment of Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Shing, Chairman of Emperor Group, as Honorary Professor. The university held the award presentation ceremony in Guangzhou. It was Dr. Yeung’s fourth time to be conferred as an honorary member by the mainland institutions. Zhang Bingshen, Dean of Guangdong University of Finance, hoped that Dr. Yeung could share his extensive experience in the financial industry with the teachers and students, in a bid to make a contribution for the university.
Guangdong University of Finance held the award presentation ceremony at the Guangzhou campus yesterday (21 January). It was hosted by Zhang Bingshen, Dean of the University. Liu Zhuang, Secretary of Party Committee of the University, and all the senior staff had attended. The university specially invited Mr. Holland Richard, President of the University of West Alabama, USA, Dr. Tucker, Dean of the Faculty of Finance of the University of West Alabama, and Carl Ching, Chairman of United World Chinese Association to act as witnesses for such special occasion.
After receiving the appointment letter from Zhang Bingshen, Dr. Yeung said that he was honored to be granted the title of Honorary Professor. In 1994, Dr. Yeung was named Honorary Professor of Law of China University of Political Science and Law. In 1998, he was appointed Honorary Trustee by Peking University. In 2007, he became Director and Honorary President of The Emperor School of Performing Arts of Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, Fudan University. Dr. Yeung said Emperor Group was established in 1978, which was one of the largest and oldest financial institutions in Hong Kong. Now that he had become Honorary Professor of Guangdong University of Finance, he would demonstrate an active role in promoting financial literacy and contributing to the university.
