As another school year begins in March, students at Laiyi Primary School in Xiangqiao District, Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, eagerly welcomed the new semester. As soon as they arrived at school, they were pleasantly surprised to find the computer lab equipped with brand new computer teaching equipment neatly arranged on the desks. The equipment was prepared for the start of various subject courses in the new semester.
The new computer equipment was generously donated by Emperor Foundation. On March 6th, which coincided with the 38th anniversary of the establishment of Laiyi Primary School, the renovated computer lab was officially unveiled. The state-of-the-art computer equipment fully meets the students' learning and usage requirements and improves the teaching conditions in the school's computer classrooms. Through learning and practical application of computers, the students can acquire various knowledge and enhance their learning efficiency.
To support the school's daily educational and teaching work, Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Shing, Chairman of Emperor Group, has donated computer equipment on multiple occasions, helping to update and solve insufficiency of the teaching equipment. Teachers at Laiyi Primary School expressed that the upgraded computer lab now serves a wider range of purposes. It is used for teachers' information technology discussions, training, and daily subject-based classroom teaching including Chinese, mathematics, English and other subjects. Moreover, routine activities such as class meetings can also take place in the computer room. The new computer room not only provides practical assistance to students' learning but also facilitates teachers' teaching and research work. It is believed that students will strive harder and gain abundant knowledge with the support of the brand new computer equipment.
Looking back, there is a deep connection between the Group and Laiyi Primary School. Dr. Albert Yeung's father, Mr. Yeung Shing, donated funds to establish the school in 1985, naming it after his father. As a compatriot living in Hong Kong, Mr. Yeung Shing cared for his hometown and generously provided funding to establish "Emperor Foundation Scholarship" to reward outstanding students and teachers with excellent teaching performance. Dr. Albert Yeung, following the family's tradition of philanthropy, has not only awarded scholarships but also donated teaching materials such as computers to the school. He has personally visited Laiyi Primary School with his family to interact with teachers and students and encouraged the children to study hard.
Since its establishment in 1997, Emperor Foundation has been deeply involved in the field of education. It not only provides the "Emperor oundation Scholarship" at twelve registered universities in Hong Kong and primary schools in mainland China but also donates to various educational funds in mainland China, including the “Ministry of Justice, PRC Education Fund”, “China University of Political Science and Law – C.U.P.L. Dr. Albert Yeung Education Fund”, “Peking University Education Foundation” and “Xiamen Education Fund” enabling outstanding students to be rewarded and underprivileged students to resume their studies.
Young people are the future and hope of the country, to focuse on youth education is an important aspect of implementing the strategy of invigorating the country through science and education and revitalizing rural education. Dr. Albert Yeung stated in an interview, "In today's highly competitive era, the most important thing is talent." It is this belief that motivates him to continuously eyes on the development of young people and the field of education, contributing to the development of Chinese cultural and educational undertakings through practical actions and assistance.
