To celebrate Group 80^th anniversary this year, Emperor Group cordially introduce the virtual charity tour “Discover Emperor, The Celebration Walk” co-hosted with a local cultural enterprise - Walk in Hong Kong (WIHK) , which formed by traces including the footprint of the Group and Hong Kong’s cultural history, a conjoined of our major milestones and celebratory moments in life.

The tour launched through streamed live online, filled with collective memories and local historical stories through the help of visual and sound narration, as well as selected artifacts. The 80 years’ journey of Emperor Group will be discovered and brought back to life by this span-new concept through the celebration walk that we hope everyone can join with the Group!

The special session for Elderly was successfully held at Emperor Cinemas (Tsuen Wan CITYWALK). The vice chairman of Emperor Group Yeung Ching-loong (Alex), the famous star Joey Yung from Emperor Entertainment, the guests from the beneficiary Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service and The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council and over 80 elderlies were invited to participate on site accompanied with others elderly from the mentioned non-profit organizations joining online which over 800 persons for the very first time.

Apart from the above guests, Hins Cheung and Vincy Chan who are also the well-known artistes under Emperor Entertainment guested with the tour guide, founder of WIHK, Paul Chan, to explore Hong Kong Island and Kowloon online and to experience the old beautiful Hong Kong at premiere vision brought by the convenience of technology. One of the major partners, Emperor Foundation gave the huge support to the beneficiary by not only the donation to develop “Intergenerational Harmony” programme, also formed the volunteer team to gaming with and cheering up the elderly at Tsuen Wan Emperor Cinemas.

The elderly were very engaged in the Q & A session as“Discover Emperor, The Celebration Walk”virtual charity tour brought the audience to drill into the historical and cultural stories behind Repluse Bay, Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Central, Tsim Sha Tsui and Yau Ma Tei, where recalled and resonated elderly’s deep memories in their young age. Holding the elderly session is meaningful to us, said by Alex, “In this era of digital intelligence, our Group never stop our pursuit on applying innovative technology for the sustainable growth among group businesses and to explore their further potential. It is extendable to social responsibility level to promotion charity digitalization. Moreover, the mobility and interaction between people are limited due to the pandemic in recent years, especially for older and frail people, even those with difficulty in ambulation. Therefore, it is a great opportunity to introduce a brand new way to travel around via live streaming programme and virtual tour, which I believe that the senior citizens will be more encouraged to face the new normal and to experience new things so as to fulfill their mental health from the convenience of applying technology.”

The virtual tour for elderly specially invited the elderly from two non-profit organizations, Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service and The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council to share the Group’s excitement about the anniversary. On the other hand, the event major partner Emperor Foundation by Emperor Group have donated to support a 1-year “Equal Play, Play Together” custom campaign under Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service “Inter-generational Play in Toy Library for the Elderly” programme aimed to prevent older dementia. The campaign is open to the secondary school and university students to jointly design toys and games for training cognition with elderly, it targets to serve 7500 man-time. Meanwhile, the Foundation also donated to The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council’s “Senior-Junior Development Programme” for 1 year to encourage young start-ups, the programme includes Barista Training and New Sports for facilitating underprivileged youth to move upward, also to stimulate the communications between young and old on professionals and life experience through physical training, eventually to share each value.

Besides the virtual charity tour for senior citizens, the virtual charity tour for public is ready to launch soon on 20 October (Saturday), it has received over 1000 registration and we are waiting for more to join us on first come first served basis! Participant who have registered and shown up the public charity tour will be prioritized to add into the prize pool for wining jackpot.
