Brightway Hong Kong announced that its annual flagship event “Hong Kong International Entrepreneurs Festival” (HKIEF) will collaborate with “The STILE Initiative”, a start-up incubator scheme co-organized by Stan Group and Jumpstart Media, serving as a new engine for entrepreneurship in Asia Pacific region. The press conference was held successfully on 21 December 2018 at The Wave Kwun Tong, introducing the upcoming HKIEF forum which will be held in April 2019. Fostering the global innovation, the forum will invite innovation and technology enterprises, internationally renowned entrepreneurs, industry authorities as well as investment experts from all around the world. Mr. Alex Yeung, Executive Director of Emperor Group and Chairman of Brightway Hong Kong, as well as the Presidents of HKIEF Organising Committee including Mr. Eric Yeung, Professor Witman Hung, Mr. Stanley Choi and Mr. Stan Tang were invited to the press conference, together with Mr. Eddy Chen, representative from Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council, Anita Chan, Chief Operation Director of Jumpstart Media, and Dr Hao Yin-xing, Director of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR. The press conference not only introduced the theme of the forum in April as “Integrating Innovation and Technology into Daily Lives”, but also announced the partnership with “The STILE Initiative”, in which a reception for startup finalists will be held in the forum. The event is expected to create greater synergy and opportunities for the young generation to start their own businesses.
Mr. Alex Yeung, Executive Director of Emperor Group, stated that he was honored to kick off HKIEF as the Chairman of Brightway Hong Kong. As the first association created by internet thinking in Hong Kong, Brightway Hong Kong has held HKIEF for past few years in a bid to provide a unique platform for Hong Kong and global youth, entrepreneurs and investors to promote, explore business opportunities and foster communications. The forum themed “Integrating Innovation and Technology into Daily Lives” will invite speakers to lead discussion on topics like smart home, smart living and e-sports etc. In addition, Mr. Nicholas Tse, an innovative and cross-border entrepreneur who possesses a cutting-edge international business vision and considerable experience in various fields of technology, catering, and performing arts etc., will participated in the forum to make a sharing and encourage the youth to pursue their dreams. Alex also mentioned that it is glad to have “The Stile Initiative” to be a partner of HKIEF. Co-organized by Stan Group and Jumpstart Media, the scheme aims to recruit over 500 startups from the Asia Pacific region, while the finalists will attend HKIEF. Not only does the exchange between the two major events enhance the penetration and better achieve the objectives, but also assists the startup elites to demonstrate their creativity in various platforms and brainstorm for more new ideas.
Stan Tang, Chairman of Stan Group and President of HKIEF Organizing Committee, said the partnership of “The Stile Initiative” and HKIEF generates optimal power by linking a large-scale international innovation and technology forum with a startup incubation programme. “The Stile Initiative” will recruit startups from 11 cities in the Asia Pacific regions including Hong Kong, and arrange them to visit Hong Kong for joining a four-month business incubation programme. Apart from investing large amounts of capital for supporting any business launch and solving difficulties faced by startups, Stan Group will maintain as a mentor even after the programme ends, regularly following up with the growth of the participating startups. Furthermore, the Group will invest in starts with great potential so as to support its long-term development. The major significance of the programme is to encourage creative thinking and to help Hong Kong and international community to establish a mutually beneficial relationship, jointly flourishing the development of the industry.
James Kwan, Managing Director of Jumpstart media, the co-organizer of “The Stile Initiative” with Stan Group, mentioned that the partnership of the programme and HKIEF integrates extensive and best resources from each organizer. It is believed that this collaboration will definitely serve as a new engine for entrepreneurship in Asia Pacific Region, while various internationally renowned brands and top business leaders will be invited to share their valuable experience.
