(Hong Kong, September 3, 2015) Emperor International Holdings Limited (“Emperor International” or “the Company”) (Stock code: 163) today announced that it had acquired Wincome Centre at Nos. 39 and 41 Des Voeux Road Central, Central (“the Property”), at a consideration of HK$1.3 billion.
The Property is a 16-storey (including basement) building comprising 3-storey retail spaces (basement, G/F and 1/F) and 13-storey office premises (2/F to 17/F, without 4/F, 13/F and 14/F), with a total gross floor area of approximately 39,027 square feet and a site area of approximately 2,576 square feet. Situated at the junction of Des Voeux Road Central and Douglas Street, it has been granted a land tenure of 999 years commencing May 1900. The Property has two street frontages of approximately 37 feet wide. It is also located at the busiest transportation hub in Central with close proximity to Hong Kong MTR station. Such acquisition is expected to be completed on 2 March, 2016. The Group intends to use it as property investment purpose.
Mr. Donald Cheung, Executive Director of Emperor International, said, “Located in the heart of Central, a commercial district in Hong Kong, the Property is surrounded by commercial landmarks and is easily accessible from all forms of public transports. Despite recent volatility in financial markets, we continue to explore potential property investment opportunities which align with the Group’s strategic direction. Such acquisition will enhance the proportion of our commercial buildings among the entire property investment portfolio. Riding on the ideal location of the Property, we are confident with its rental return and capital appreciation potential in the long-run.”
