Emperor International Holdings Limited (“Emperor International” or “the Company”) (Stock code: 163) today announced that it had acquired a residential and commercial composite building located at 75-79 Lockhart Road, Wanchai (“the Property”), at a consideration of HK$683,000,000.
Established in 1964, the Property is 13-storey residential and commercial composite building with a site area of approximately 3,120 square feet and total floor area of approximately 26,207 square feet. Such acquisition is expected to be completed on June 15, 2015. It is planned to be redeveloped into a commercial complex.
Mr. Donald Cheung, Executive Director of Emperor International, said, “The Property is located on Lockhart Road, Wanchai, a strategic stronghold of commercial and retail on Hong Kong Island. It is also regarded as a hub of catering and entertainment with a lot of international cuisines. Coupled with the development of Shatin to Central Link, we see a huge potential in the district. In the past two years, Emperor International proactively sourced the properties in the same district. We believe such acquisition can further enhance the proportion of Wanchai properties in its investment portfolio and look forward to a synergy effect among the properties in the district.”
