(12th June 2014, Hong Kong) The first Emperor-UA Cinema, the joint venture of Emperor Motion Pictures (EMP) and UA Cinemas, was opened in Nanhai VivoCity, a shopping mall in Foshan on 12th June 2014. Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Shing, Chairman of Emperor Group; Mr. Stanley Ko, BBS, JP, Chairman of Lark International Group; Mr. Albert Lee, Chief Executive Officer of EMP; and Mr. Jake Koh, B Math (CS), CEO & Executive Director of Lark International Group, attended the opening ceremony, in the company of EEG artistes Joey Yung, Simon Yam and Anthony Wong.
Mr. Albert Lee said during his speech, “Our corporation with UA Cinemas signifies the expansion of our film business from upstream to downstream, from investment, production, distribution to cinema operation, I see a promising future ahead of us and believe in the next few years, Emperor-UA Cinemas will spread in major cities all over China.” Mr. Jake Koh also said, “The sophisticated production team of EMP and our experience in cinema operation have built a stable foundation for Emperor-UA Cinemas.”
