(April 26, 2014, Hong Kong) Emperor Group Chairman Dr. Albert Yeung was granted the title “China’s Philanthropist of the Year” last night (April 25) at the award presentation ceremony of “China’s Charity Chart” in Beijing.
He was accompanied by EEG artiste Eric Moo Kai-yin, who was also named “China’s Philanthropic Artiste of the Year”.
It is the sixth consecutive time Dr. Yeung has been awarded this title since 2009. Dr. Yeung is actively involved in various charity works in China and Hong Kong, with a special focus on elderly and hospice services. Up till now, he has funded the establishment of 6 service centres in Hong Kong, Hubei and Hebei, providing medical, accommodation and psychological consultation services. He committed to a funding of RMB 10 million earlier this year for his seventh centre in Changli County, Hebei Province, which is expected to come into service in mid 2015.
"China's Charity Chart" was organised by China Philanthropy Times under the supervision of Ministry of Civil Affairs of China. All nominations have been scrutinized with public participations in the form of voting by both professionals and the general public. This year’s ceremony was given in Water Cube, attended by prominent entrepreneurs and entertainment celebrities.
