(April 29, 2012, Hong Kong) Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Shing, Chairman of Emperor Group, has been elected one of the "Top 10 Philanthropists" and gone into the "China's Charity Chart" for the fourth year in a row.
Dr. Yeung was presented the award by Zhang Rongming, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, during an award presentation ceremony held in Water Cube (Beijing National Aquatics Center) in Beijing on April 27, 2012. He was accompanied by EEG artist Leo Ku, who has been elected one of the “Top 10 Philanthropic Artists”.
The "China's Charity Chart" was co-organised by Ministry of Civil Affairs of China, Central Committee for Comprehensive Management of Public Security, All-China Federation of Trade Unions, All-China Women's Federation, China Association of Social Workers and Red Cross Society of China. All nominations have been scrutinized with public participations in the form of voting both by professionals and the general public.
Dr. Yeung has always been a devoted philanthropist. Earlier this month on April 11, 2012, he was awarded another honour, the "China Charity Award - The Most Caring Individual Donor Award", and won compliments of Vice Premier Li Keqiang. To mark Emperor Group’s 70th Anniversary, he has also committed to a HKD 10 million donation for an array of different charity projects. Benefiting organizations so far announced include ORBIS Hong Kong, Social Workers Across Borders, Caring Hearts Photographic Society and St. James’ Settlement.
