The 17th World Outstanding Chinese Awards, organized by the World Chinese Business Investment Foundation, was recently held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Mr. Alex Yeung, Vice Chairman of Emperor Group, was awarded the World Outstanding Chinese Award.
The ceremony invited a group of distinguished guests, including Mr. Tam Yiu Chung, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Dr. Jonathan Choi Koon Shum, member of the Standing Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Shing, Chairman of Emperor Group, Dr. Stephen Tai Tak Fung, Founder and Chairman of Four Seas Group, Dr. Ko Wing Man, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Kenneth Fok Kai Kong, a National Committee Member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and a member of Hong Kong Legislative Council.
At the award ceremony, Mr. Alex Yeung, Vice Chairman of Emperor Group, was presented the “World Outstanding Chinese Award” by Mr. Tam Yiu Chung, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Dr. Jonathan Choi Koon Shum, member of the Standing Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Mr. Alex Yeung is active in various fields, and he is concerned about social affairs, especially issues related to youth development. Over the years, he has served as Committee Member of All-China Youth Federation; Chairman of Hong Kong United Youth Association; Vice Chairman of Beijing Youth Federation, etc. With Mr. Alex Yeung’s deeds and influence, he has consistently served as an example for young people, promoting upward mobility for youth in society. Regarding receiving this honor, he said, “I appreciate the organizers for honoring me with the ‘World Outstanding Chinese Award’ and consider it a privilege. I am also appreciative to my father, Dr. Albert Yeung, for his continuous encouragement and support. This award means a lot to me, and it will inspire me to keep working hard and moving forward fearlessly. In the future, I will keep my original intention, and while doing my job well, I will continue to devote myself to youth affairs and the development of young people in Hong Kong!”
This year's World Outstanding Chinese Awardees have all made remarkable achievements in their respective industries or professions, including Professor Zhang Xiang, Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong, Dr. Francis Choi Chee Ming, Founder and Chairman of Early Light International Ltd, Dr. Adrian Cheng Chi Kong, CEO of New World Development, Dr. Ko Wing Man, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Kenneth Fok Kai Kong, a National Committee Member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and a member of Hong Kong Legislative Council. The World Outstanding Chinese Arts Award was presented to Mr. Bowie Woo Fung, who has been in the Hong Kong film and television industry for more than half a century, and the World Outstanding Chinese Youth Award was presented to the eight Hong Kong athletes who achieved the best results in the Tokyo Olympics, including Cheung Ka Long, Hong Kong fencer, Ms. Siobhan Bernadette Haughey, Hong Kong swimmer, Ms. Lee Wai Sze, Hong Kong professional track cyclist.
