Dr. Albert Yeung Sau Shing, Chairman of Emperor Group, was born in Hong Kong but traces his ancestry to Chiu Chow in Guangdong Province, China. He has spent a major part of his life as a leading elite of the business community ever since he joined his family business at an early age. The success of today's Emperor Group has not been without challenge, and has been achieved through extraordinary determination and acumen. Having been an entrepreneur for decades, through the twists and turns of life, Dr. Yeung has come to appreciate the great importance of family and loyal friends. He has also devoted himself to charity work and has set up two foundations to help those in need, in particular the elderly.
Dr. Yeung first founded Lions Clubs of South Kowloon and became Charter President in 1976. He is now Standing Director of China Charity Federation and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Home Association, etc. Dr. Yeung's efforts have won him many awards and recognition, one of the most important one is the "China Charity Award – The Most Caring Individual Donor Award", the most authentic charity award presented by the Chinese Government, which he has been bestowed upon repeatedly since 2005. Dr. Yeung has also been honoured with "Top Ten Philanthropists" award at China’s Charity Chart organized by China Philanthropy Timesas in successive years. In 2017, Dr. Yeung was granted “Lifetime Achievement Award” which took him to next level of accomplishment. More than that, he has also received “Outstanding Philanthropic Leader of the Year”, “Most Influential Leading Philanthropist” and “Philanthropist of the Year”, proving once again how Dr. Yeung made the continuous effort and contributions to society. In 2022, Dr. Yeung and Mr. Alex Yeung, Vice Chairman of Emperor Group, were awarded "Philanthropic Inheritance Excellence Awards" in China’s Charity Chart in the form of father-and son for the first time, showing that the spirit of philanthropy has been constantly carried forward. In 2023, Dr. Yeung was awarded the highest honor on China Philanthropy List, “Charity 20th in China‧Philanthropic Leader”, proving once again how Dr. Yeung made the continuous effort and contributions to society. Mr. Alex Yeung was awarded "Young Philanthropist of the Year". Owing to his contribution to education, Dr. Yeung was appointed Honorary Professor of Law by the China University of Political Science and Law, and Honorary Consultant of All China Lawyers Association by the All China Lawyers Association in 1994. In 1998, he was named Honorary Trustee by Peking University. He was further appointed Honorary Professor as well as Director and Honorary President of The Emperor School of Performing Arts respectively by Guangdong University of Finance and Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, Fudan University in 2008.
