Emperor Group Volunteer Team

Staff members of Emperor Group share the same philanthropic passion of Dr. Albert Yeung. While working hard on their own business positions, they are also actively sparing their own time to take part in volunteer initiatives of the Group. Every year the Group organized a range of volunteer activities both for the staff members to extend their charitable contributions and also to enhance the team spirit amongst the participants. Past activities include fundraising through walkathons, visiting elderly, tree planting, and donating used books and excessive household items, etc. The culmination and highlight of a year-long volunteer program is usually a cross-border service tour. In recent years, the Group has paid visits to a number of less fortunate people in Mainland China: met with Sichuan earthquake victims, comforted the old and dying at hospice and elderly care centres in Hubei and Hebei as well as served the peasants’ children in rural schools in northern Guangdong and Chongqing.

Emperor Foundation

Emperor Foundation

Emperor Foundation was established in 1997 dedicated to supporting social welfare causes, as well as charitable activities related to education, healthcare, culture in Hong Kong and Mainland China. One of the major projects that the Foundation has participated is the founding of a hospice service centre, the "Hubei Hong Kong Emperor Elderly Care Centre" in the Hubei province in 2006. The project includes the establishment of relevant facilities and the provision of medical services and hospice counseling for the solitary elderly. So far the Foundation has donated over RMB20 million to support the project and will continue to subsidise the operation of the Centre on a yearly basis. Because of its innovative efforts in attempting to break the taboo about death in the Chinese tradition, the project won "The Most Influential Charity Project Nomination Award 2007" presented by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China. The Foundation also actively supports non-profit organisations to promote hospice care in Hong Kong.

The Foundation also cares about education. Apart from setting up "Emperor Foundation Scholarship" for all nine registered tertiary institutions in Hong Kong, the Foundations has made donations to numerous education funds in Mainland China, including the "Ministry of Justice, PRC Education Fund", "China University of Political Science and Law – C.U.P.L. Dr. Albert Yeung Education Fund", "Peking University Education Foundation" and "Xiamen Education Fund" for students with either excellent academic results or underprivileged family background.
